Review by Cathy Thompson – Mother of the Bride (Wedding on 9/13/25 at Moores Spring Manor, Catered by Vision Catering) ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 stars) I normally don’t write reviews, but after the experience we had with Vision Catering, I feel it’s my responsibility to warn other families – especially those planning once-in-a-lifetime events like a wedding. My daughter’s wedding took place on September 13, 2025, at the beautiful Moores Spring Manor – the venue itself was lovely. But unfortunately, the catering by Vision Catering was an absolute disaster and cast a huge shadow over an otherwise joyful day. Let’s start with the food: The steak was dry, flavorless, and tough enough to choke on – several guests commented that it was inedible. The chicken was gummy and undercooked, with no seasoning or texture. The salad was straight out of a plastic grocery store bag, dumped onto a plate with zero effort or freshness. Everything was bland, dry, and far below what you'd expect for the amount we paid. And speaking of cost – Vision Catering charged me over $6,000, which included $70 per person – and that charge included 15 vendor meals. What I didn’t realize until too late is that 4 of those "vendors" were their own staff! Why am I paying for their employees to eat? That’s not normal practice, and it was never explained clearly. Their contract says employee meals aren’t required, but then they sneak in extra charges under the label of “vendors.” That’s dishonest and predatory billing. It felt like they were looking for every way to nickel and dime us. When I called Nina, the catering contact, to address these issues and ask for some money back, she was extremely rude and dismissive. Rather than taking any accountability, she told me they had “pictures of people enjoying the food.” I told her plainly: photos of guests smiling at their table don’t prove the food was good – they just show people enjoying the moment, not the meal. It’s a manipulation tactic, and one they use often. Do not allow them to take photos at your event, because they will use those pictures to create a misleading image of quality and satisfaction that simply isn't true. What they deliver and what they promote are two different things. To top it off, I later found out that Vision Catering recently changed their name, which is a red flag in itself. It’s obvious people have started calling them out for these exact issues, and they’re trying to dodge accountability by rebranding. I’m currently speaking with an attorney regarding the deceptive charges and the lack of professional service. What should have been a beautiful, seamless celebration was marred by terrible food, dishonest billing, and poor customer service. Bottom line: Do NOT trust Vision Catering with your wedding or any event. Their food is low quality, their pricing is deceptive, and their attitude toward paying clients is unprofessional at best. Sharing this again since this company changed their name because of the reviews they were getting. Until they make it right I will continue. Taking advantage of a couple getting ready to get married doesn’t sit right with me at all, especially when it’s my daughter.

We had the most fabulous brunch for 50 people the morning after my daughter’s wedding for immediate family and is was just perfect! The food was delicious and abundant. They were easy to work with from start to finish. Gene and Tracy really take pride in their work and wanted the event to be perfect for us and it was! Plus their biscuits were one of the best big buttery biscuits I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend and certainly use them again!

We had the pleasure of working with Culinary Visions Catering for my daughter’s wedding at the Bella Collina Mansion. The food was delicious and hot( which is very important) and they were incredibly accommodating with the special dietary needs we had from gluten and chicken allergies to kids meals and just picky eaters. 😅 Not only did they serve the food but the service provided was 5 star. Our drinks were always full and they even served the handicapped guest without having to ask. We would 100% recommend this business and hope to get to use them again in the future.

While the team at Visions Catering & Floral was prompt, responsive and professional in their communication, the quality of their work left much to be desired. The food they served was dry and barely seasoned, not at all what we had contracted for. The presentation was also quite poor, not at all reflective of the elegant affair we had envisioned. To their credit, they did provide us with a 15% refund, but I wish I had pushed for more given how dissatisfied we were with their overall performance on our special day. The food at the tasting was much better than on the actual wedding day (do not pick an item you did not taste). I did not taste the salmon at the tasting. On the wedding day the salmon was dry with no trace of the bourbon sugar glaze we had contracted for. The steak was also very dry. The presentation was subpar. The broccoli was so overcooked it was white. However, the passed appetizers (bruschetta and meatballs were good). While the rest of our wedding was amazing, the poor quality of the catering left a bad taste in the guest mouth, both literally and figuratively. Guests are still talking about the poor food that was served at our wedding. If I had to do it over again, I would have chosen a different catering company.

I used them for the first time for a Veterans event at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service. They handled everything and did an exellent job serving. The food was fabulous. I have recieved many compliments. Highly recommend them!

Our caterer was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, Gene treated us with the utmost care and attention, making sure we were never hungry or thirsty throughout the day. They really kept a close eye on us and didn’t miss a beat, which we deeply appreciated, especially on such a busy day. I’m a picky eater, so the extra attention they gave to making sure I got exactly what I wanted was a huge relief. The food was delicious—our guests couldn’t stop raving about the teriyaki salmon! One of the highlights was at the end of the night when they surprised us with a neatly packaged box of leftovers. We enjoyed it the next day, and it was just as good as we remembered. If you’re looking for a vendor who combines excellent service with delicious food, this is the one. They truly made our wedding day even more special!

We took advantage of one of their monthly specials by putting down a deposit, which allowed us to indulge in a stunning dessert display that was an instant hit with our guests. The variety and presentation were impeccable, and it added a delightful touch to our celebration. Communication with Vision's Catering was always smooth and efficient. They were responsive and helpful throughout the planning process, which gave us confidence that everything would run smoothly on the big day. One key takeaway from our experience is the importance of being explicit about your needs and expectations with the catering team. Based on our research and previous reviews, we found that clearly communicating what you want significantly increases the likelihood that the team will deliver on those specifics. For example: asking ahead of time that the bride & groom be served directly regardless of the buffet setup. This spared us from having to navigate through the crowd, and seems like a no-brainer. However, make sure to ASK for this service ahead of time, rather than just expecting it! Same thing with providing extra to-go boxes and packing up the leftover food, desserts, and cake for us to enjoy later. Just ask ahead of time and they will take care of it! The tasting appointment was a highlight for us. It was complimentary, even before we had committed to a contract, and the staff made us feel incredibly special. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and ensured that every dish we sampled was prepared to perfection. However, it’s important to note that the quality of food for a small tasting will differ from that served to a large crowd on the big day. We were more focused on affordability rather than the highest possible quality of food, and Vision’s Catering met our expectations perfectly in this regard. The food was still great, and everyone was very happy. I was particularly pleased that there were no hidden fees; no cake cutting fee and no bussing fee. The tables were kept clean throughout the evening, a testament to their attention to detail and commitment to excellent service. In conclusion, Vision's Catering was a delight to work with. Their dedication to customer satisfaction, coupled with their seamless execution, made them an invaluable part of our wedding day. I wholeheartedly recommend them to any couple looking for a caterer with great communication and affordability. Both pre-wedding and during the wedding they were professional and helpful! During the event the staff was incredibly friendly and lively. They were attentive, to the point where staff went out of their way to make sure I had eaten something during cocktail hour when we were taking pictures. All of my guests commented on how amazing they were, and that the food was delicious. 11/10!

Culinary Visions was absolutely AMAZING - the service, the food, the staff were all wonderful. They catered our wedding at Bella Collina, and I could not recommend them enough!! Gene was personally there to make sure everything exceeded our expectations, and they definitely did. And beyond!! The food is spectacular.. like some of the best I’ve ever had. I never thought I’d have food that good at our wedding!! The food at the tastings was exactly the same on the day of, and they had so many options to choose from. Not to mention - they allowed us to personalize our meal selection as the bride and groom to anything we wanted. He even sent us home with 2 full meals for the next day. I can’t thank Gene and Tracy enough for making our day that much more perfect. They were easy to work with, professional, and so so accommodating. 10/10 recommend!!!

Gene and his team have breakfast every Thursday morning at the Guilford Merchant Association’s BizLinks Networking group. It is alway so great! He always delivers a great spread of breakfast items- cheesy eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, toast and fruit. I would recommend Culinary Vision to anyone- their breakfast, lunch and dinners are so good.

Delicious delicious food! We got their champagne chicken, mac n cheese, and mixed veg buffet option. It was so delicious and tasteful. I highly recommend their risotto balls as an appetizer! Everything we tried during their tasting was so good that it made it hard to choose! They are also sweet because they give you a basket of everything that was served so the couple can enjoy it the next day. They are very professional and respectful. 10/10 service. Highly recommend!

Culinary Visions is absolutely incredible! They catered our wedding and our guests cannot stop RAVING about how good the food was! One of the most important things to my husband and I for our wedding was our food. We made it clear that we didn’t want the typical wedding fare. Instead, we opted for Southern Comfort foods. I’m from Charleston and can be pretty picky about my southern food. Everything they made was fantastic, but their shrimp and grits and pulled pork rivaled some of the BEST restaurants that I’ve ever been to! I also wanted to include something southeast Asian to incorporate something from my culture. Their chicken satay with the dipping sauce was so authentic! We are very happy with our decision with choosing Culinary Visions for our wedding. Some of our guests are still talking about the food! They also provided sangria for our wedding, which was delicious! Gene and his staff have gone above and beyond at both of our food tastings and at our actual wedding!

Culinary Visions provided food and drink for our daughter's wedding of about 30 people. They did a wonderful job preparing plenty of food and ensured it was hot and ready in time for the reception. Beverage service was also excellent. They worked well with the other service providers and made the whole event seamless and stress free.

Gene and Tracy were an absolute pleasure to work with! They were one of my favorite parts of planning our wedding. Not only did they help with our hot chocolate bar, they went above and beyond to ensure every detail about the food was perfect. They're also incredibly clear on pricing, which can be tough to find with some wedding vendors. We received MANY compliments on how delicious our food was after the wedding. I would book them again and again!

My husband and I were married yesterday (7/20/2022) and had culinary vision cater to our special day, and I could not imagine having anyone else there to take such good care of us or our guests. Highly recommend the champagne chicken, it is absolutely delicious! They did such an amazing job in taking care of my husband and I and making sure we had our food and we’re able to enjoy it on this crazy day. We hired Culinary Visions Catering as our caterer for our wedding at Castle McCulloch on November 16, 2021, and overall we highly recommend them! AMAZING food and an extremely friendly and caring chef. My only issue was with email correspondence, as this is a very busy time for weddings, and I had to sometimes follow up more than once before I got a response. On the day of the wedding, we had absolutely AMAZING appetizers and an outstanding dinner. We wanted Peruvian food, so we worked with the chef and gave him the two recipes for the two dishes we wanted, and they came out great!

I had them cater my wedding at Castle McCulloch and they were amazing. Not only was Melinda (I believe her name was) a fantastic help on the phone, she also was so incredibly kind, I felt like I was her own daughter getting married, or something. Everyone that works here through email or phone was so, so kind. In person, they were somehow even nicer on our special day. We got veggies, a chicken with white gravy, red potatoes, bread, etc. Employees stood by the whole dinner to help everyone get their food. I had a small wedding of only about 35 people or less. During the meal, one of the employees was so so kind and made myself and my husband a plate, as well as my disabled grandparents who I'm not sure they would've known have trouble walking. They were so attentive, and did above and beyond. If I could have the food every day, I would. At the end, one of the employees even made plates for my husband and I to take home. She wrapped them up so well that they survived the 5 hour car ride back to Virginia. Everything about their work, presentation, incredible service attitude from front to end was stellar. I could not recommend them more if I tried. The food was also reasonably priced for the service and quality. I have guests calling and telling me how much they loved the food. Truly an amazing experience and I appreciate all they did for me on my wedding day.
