Featured Couple: Susan and Dan
Remember in third grade when your mom told you that the boy who pulled your ponytail was doing it because he liked you?
Well, with Dan and Susan, it started way past third grade: at Appalachian State University, to be exact, when Dan teasingly kicked Susan at a party. "He was too cute to reprimand," says Susan, "and we've been inseparable ever since."
The proposal was pretty cute, too. Susan: "Dan and I were in Boone for the weekend and hiking Hebron Rock Colony when he proposed with the most beautiful ring. He then hurried me back to my home in Greensboro where my friends and family surprised me with an engagement party. I was the last person to know I was getting engaged that weekend!"
Planning their Greensboro wedding was no small task: the couple moved to Atlanta a week after getting engaged. Susan relied heavily on Mom, her bridesmaids and web sites like Triadbridal.com.
Susan sought the advice of Ayesha Oglesby, the wedding specialist at Magnolia Manor, the venue for her reception (and a Charter Member of Triad Bridal Association). "Ayesha was great. She has seen so many vendors "in action" she was able to provide great advice on vendors. She even helped plan the details of the ceremony."
The Rehearsal Dinner was an Appalachian-themed Barbeque in the sun room at Pepper Moon Inn. "Pepper Moon's food was delicious and the Inn was perfect location for our intimate party."
Susan was beautiful in her gown from Bridal Mart: an elegant ivory, strapless, A-line Demetrios gown. Bridal Mart had an enormous selection of dresses at great prices.
Susan and Dan singled out a few other vendors for special mention:
Music can really set the tone for a special celebration and Susan and Dan were very happy with Corda Entertainment. "Alison (of Corda) was great to work with and the musicians were truly professionals."
Susan and Dan chose Aesthetic Images to photograph their event. "Cyana was fantastic. We are so happy with our pictures: she truly captured the essence and excitement of our special day without being intrusive."
Flowers for the wedding were provided by Send Your Love Florist. And Basil Creek Catering provided the food.
After the ceremony, the couple was whisked away in a beautiful Rolls Royce Silver Cloud limousine from Executive Coach and Travel.
Susan urges brides-to-be not to be afraid to ask for help, with special thanks to her Mom!
Susan's last bit of advice: Remember that this day is about the groom too! "Dan got involved in many aspects of the planning from picking out colors to helping cut programs at the last minute."
Triad Bridal Association wishes Susan and Dan a lifetime of good health and great times!
